Coming down from NC this weekend to ride FATS and would like to include Bartram as well. The link to the Google map from the Bartram forum doesn't show Bartram. Does this trail go by another name? I'd be grateful for any information so we can find it while we're in Augusta!
Thanks,
Cliff

Thanks! I see now on the CSRA board map it's labeled 'Petersburg'... a bit confusing.

Thanks for the heads up Cliff, forgot I still needed to mark those. The map is fixed now, with markers for all three parking areas for Bartram - Petersburg, West Dam, and Lake Springs.

Excellent! Much more helpful to us clueless travelers. Looking forward to riding Bartram and FATS this weekend.

Excellent! Much more helpful to us clueless travelers. Looking forward to riding Bartram and FATS this weekend. Should be good. We've had some much needed rain yesterday and today so the sand on hardpan, and deeper sand in some spots should be less treacherous.

I rode Bartram yesterday from west dam to wild wood and back. The trail is in fantastic condition. Even after all the rain of the past few days it was firm,no standing water, no mud, no downed trees, I cleared a few larger branches here and there, the only soft spot was in the bottom of the big dip on the new section around mile 11. It was a cool sunny day just awesome. I saw two other mt bikers and maybe 25+ runners, Augusta state cross country was out there working out.

Skunked, early AM drizzle, ride limited dam to Lake Spgs. loop and back for a quick 7 miles. Wet limited to southern trails - HKSP still high & dry......
Crew was dropping trees at the dam area - 4-wheel equipment roughed the trail, short section, rideable, some remaining debris.
One pine 1/4 mile from dam trailehead - Mom nature helped again - broken - pulled crown, debris off trail - all good.
(1) rideable (spiked & slippery) on east L.S. (east) loop return to Bartram.
No mud or running water......
Update: Thursday 9/30 Petersburg - Wildwood
All clear, great trail, weather, zen.....
Missed the dogs - kinda looking forward to the race.....
Major Kudos to those involved in design and construction. One of the best, for my style, and my 59 year-old bones...... flows very-very well (some of the diversion bumps / Petersburg end need tires & wear) - but in general, keep the momentum, and just glide.....
Today, with sun, cool air, checked out several times into that other zone........
Only semi-soft was the big dip at ~ 10.5 - but it did not stick, water flowing < 2" at 2 crossings that were armored.
Ya'll have it made here in CSRA - great trail effort - congrats.
