A weekend camping at HKSP means a weekend riding mountain bikes. Also ran into numerous hikers (well, not literally). Lots of mtb'ing, grilling, and water skiing. MD

Michael, as the primary caretakers of the Lake Loop I thought you and Barbara should know about a comment thrown your way last week. I had a meeting at HKSP and a couple of the guys attending ride MTB's in NC. I invited them to bring their bikes and ride the trails in the park after we were done, and they rode the loop after checking in and before checking out. Compliments all around about how great the trail condition is and how well maintained it was compared to some they typically rode. Great to here comments like that!

Appreciate that comment Mark. We took our Silky handsaw with us Friday and took out a few that tended to slow the "Flow". This is truly our favorite trail.
We also took a newbie out Sat. morning. It was his second time out on a mountain bike. He had a blast.

Love the pics of the rock. One of my favorite features on that trail.

Love the pics of the rock. One of my favorite features on that trail. +1 - it's neat seeing the tire react with the edge of the rock. You guys seen that show Time Warp? I'd love to see them mount some crazy high speed cameras on a mtn bike. You could see the tire conform to the ground, the frame flex, etc. Would be cool.

I like the video shots when the camera is mounted on the frame, directly behind the front fork. It amazes me how much movement a fork goes through, even on a tame trail. MD

HKSP was our intro to CSRA Mt. Biking - even after residing in Martinez 77-`83...... All 3 loops make a great ride when doubled, add the road climb - golf course to red barn - and you are ready for relaxing time by the lake........
Great pics !
Be there in 3 weeks......
