Rode BPP last night; the clown corner ramp is as bad as I have ever seen it. This trail is a good lesson in the power of water. I guess the only reason the trail hasn't been destroyed by now is that it is so sandy that most water sinks in. There are some other parts that have really got a gully started. If we could get some broken concrete we could use the powerwagon to get it pretty close to most of the bad spots. Russell- any ideas?

Jon, I'm just before hammering up some concrete on a home improvement project. Gotta haul it off any, so would be glad to donate some of it there.

I have been riding this trail for several months now. I went the other day and it looks like the trail route has been changed. I got turned around several times as I could not follow the markers very well. I am not knowledgeable in trail building, but if there is a group that maintains this trail I would not mind assisting. Just send me a message.

cal- Oddcouple (Russel Hale) is the trail champion on record, though other folks have taken care of that trail over the years. RH and I talked to some guys at FATS yesterday about a work party. There are a number of guys that work at SRS that ride BPP after work. Russel needs to talk to Matt, with Aiken Parks & Rec, about materials, etc. We probably won't do anything before SMC, and RH is expecting a baby soon. I'm concerned that someone has been messin' with the trails, which is easy to do since the loops run so close together.

I have nothing scheduled yet, but it is getting to be backpacking time, and beach time. Sunday's are usually free though. If I had direction I could go out myself, but I am not sure what the intended route or look is supposed to be.

Talked to Brad Barnes, Directer of Aiken County Parks,Recreation and Tourism. The Red Flags and Green Arrows were put on the trail for a 5K run so if you would like they can be taken down.We talked about marking the trail better and fixing some bad spots. We are planning to meet at the Trail Friday morning the 17th to make some plans.I will keep everyone posted with the plans for a big work party and a possible time trial event at the toughest 5.5miles of trail in the CSRA.

What time are you guys planning to meet on Friday Morning? I may be able to make it. I am hoping we can get some interest up on this trail. Aiken area riders are missing out on a tuff 5.5 mile work out.

I will keep a look out for a post on the time.
Time trail would be good. Everytime I think I want to go quicker on this trail it reminds me of my skill level by slamming me down in the pine straw laying on hard dirt........ .

If you guys still need concrete for this trail there is a huge pile of it already broken up at the gas line crossing on FS659D (Top of Buzzards Chute) that has been there for over 4 years now. It was supposed to be used for FATS but has been long forgotten about. Someone please use it or at least help clean it up. Thanks.
