The first time I rode New Bartram I found myself comparing it to range road. The number one reason to me that it is like range road you have to want to ride it. I think if you can ride this trail fast and steady you can ride any other trail in the area. I t doesn't have everything all the other trails have but it has enough to keep your attention. Master this trail and everything else will fall in line. Concentrated pedaling equals results on any trail

Nice analogy. Wasn't sure where this was going judging by the subject line, but I like it. MD

Clipless pedals are more important than front suspension unless you are a highly skilled rider with a BMX background who rides with flat pedals.
Range Road is at Fort Gordon.

You get the shoes and I will loan you a set of Crank Bros Mallets w/cleats for you to try. Some folks like the Crank Bros system, some SPD, and some Time. I think I like Time the best. You wouldn't want these Mallets long term unless you want to ride in tennis shoes to the store occasionally, but you can at least get the feel of that style attachment.

I actually have the shimano platform/clipless setup right now. I come from a bmx background (rode as a kid) so I dont need clipless to do bunny hops or lift the rear of of the bike off the ground. I have ran clipless before but I cant find my old shoes so I went with these until I could get some. Its just not in the budget yet. I hate buying online bc I would rather support the LBS, plus, I wear a 13 size shoe so fitting is important, especially if Im going to drop 90-150 bucks.
