This is certainly relevent - it means the singletrack will not be accessible during the week, starting next week.
Why didn't they do this when the canal was drained earlier this year?

If I read the article correctly, access to the pumphouse trail from the East (downtown) will be unaffected. Construction will be upstream of the pumphouse and downstream of I-20, so no access from the West (headgates) during the week. You would've thought they would have done all the maintenance last Winter, when the canal was drained

The singletrack should be open still. The article stated the tow path will be closed from just up stream of the pump station to I-20. No excess from the gates on weekdays.

Yeah, you guys are right. I always get I-20 and riverwatch bridges mixed up.

So you can still access the singletrack, but not from the Savannah Rapids Pavillion.

Thanks for the information. I was thinking of riding from the head gates after work during the week. Would have been crappy to drive that far to be blocked.

Please be on the look-out if they close the bridge over the Canel from Eisenhower Park. It was closed for a few days a month or so ago and we had to cross the railroad bridge, it was safe to cross RB at that time because it was being work on. We ride from National Hills to the Canal trail.

I know some of the work was postponed, however is it finished yet? Is the tow path open between I-20 and the singletrack during the weekdays yet? thanks.

Yes, it opened this week (technically, last Friday). I rode into work, from the head gates, on Monday AM and the fence is gone.

Thanks for the info. For the last few weeks (or has it been months) I have avoided it since I park at the rapids. With the time change I am hoping to get at least one ride in per week after work plus one for the weekend. Now if would just stop raining every 4 days!
