COE may be receiving another allotment of Stimulus Bill funding. If so, they want to put in a brand new loop (South Carolina side)in the area bounded by Rt 221, the road to the powerhouse and the southern boundary of their property. The main feature is Nixon Branch - a gorgeous little stream. This tract of land could become FATS II - it is heavy with topograpical relief and in addition to the stream, contains a high point view from a powerline looking down at the dam and lake. Some initial flagging has been proposed (set) by COE but they desire a joint venture with SORBA-CSRA with laying out the route. No timetable on the funding yet.

That would be nice. That area use to be filled with jeep trails and it's the first place I ever rode a mountian bike.

I'm pretty excited about this, especially the proposed trail from the dam over to Modoc. I'm hoping to maybe do the Lick Fork -> Mistletoe (via Wine/Turkey/Modoc/Bartram/Keg) sometime in 2010...not sure what the mileage would be, but I"m guessing it's around 100, maybe more. Who's in?

Another, shorter route will be Mistletoe to FATS. I might like to try for this one.

Count me in for that one Dustin. Sounds like it would be pretty fun.
