Don't forget if you are interested in helping to plan and /or volunteer for the 2010 IMBA World Summit, please attend the IMBA Summit Planning Meeting Thursday, August 20th at Enterprise Mill conference room from 7:00pm till 8:30pm. We will develop ideas on trail host activities.
If you are not able to attend the meeting at this time there will still be plenty of opportunities to volunteer in the coming months and at the Summit itself!

Notes from Thursday night's meeting provided by Liz Victor. Thanks Liz!
Notes from 8/20/09 Meeting
Schedule:
Wednesday - Check in/registration/opening ceremonies. Band to play at Ampitheartre.
Thursday - AM seminars - afternoon ride - PM Film Festival at Imperial Theatre
Friday - AM Seminars - afternoon ride - First Friday downtown
Saturday - Morning ride - Noon-3 p.m. Closing ceremonies with BBQ
Transportation to and from FATS trail rides:
Randy has used YMCA buses in the past and thinks he may be able to use them to transport riders. Looking for transportation for bikes. Someone from Aiken suggested using bike polo trailers? "Volunteer transportation" will be used to transport riders and bikes to other trails.
Paul wants to find a place to store bikes near the Marriott Convention Center so attendees don't have to take their bikes to their rooms.
Rides at Fats Thur/Fri & Sat:
Paul suggests having 1 or 2 ride leaders per 15 riders. Parking of buses as far end of overflow parking lot Trail marshals? Sweepers for all loops each day needed. Mt. Bike Patrol should be there all days Trek/Specialized should have mechanics on duty at the trail head as well as demo bikes. Maps for trails will be available in registration packets, on SORBA's web site and on IMBA Summitt web site. Call Numbers for Emergencies? Randy will have Capitol City Ambulances on hand each day. SORBA to provide water/clif bars/goo/bananas/etc at trail each day. Numbered ID bracelets/tags for riders and bikes
Other Trail Rides:
Master Map of all trails in our area with descriptions and total miles to and from. The 2nd phase of the Bartram Trail from Petersburg to Wildwood Park will be completed by then. Possible Bartram-Keg Combo or Turkey-Wine Combo? "Volunteer Transportation" could be used for this as well.
Other issues:
Volunteer T-shirts Bike rentals with delivery to hotel?- Andy, Phil, Brett? Encourage bike shops to contact vendors/dealers to bring in display/merchandise/etc. Paul is working with Glen on acquiring all permits needed to host event at FATS. (safety plan, operating plan, scheudule) Looking for sponsors to include "coupon" on map?
