Would you like to know how to post pictures on the message boards of this forum? If so, follow these simple steps and you too can post your pictures.
Step 1.
Find yourself a website that will host your pictures. An example is www.photobucket.com but you can do a google search to find other sites. Photobucket is free so all you'll have to do is go there and create your own account with a username and password.
Step 2.
Upload your pictures from your computer. Now before you can upload your pictures, you must already have them saved to your computer hard drive from your digital camera. Using photobucket as an example, on the photobucket webpage, after creating your account, click on "Upload" and then browse for your pictures on your computer. In otherwords, locate the folder on your computer where you have your pictures saved.
Step 3.
Copy the IMG code. Once you have your pictures uploaded to photobucket, you'll notice an album was created for you. Move your cursor over a picture you want to post and a set of codes will appear beneath the picture. The bottom one is the IMG code. That's the one you'll need to post your picture. So move the cursor over the IMG code, left click on it to highlight it, then right click on it and select "Copy". Now you have a copy of the IMG code for the picture you want to post.
Step 4.
Paste the IMG code into your message. After you've copied the IMG code on photobucket, go back to the forum message board and select the thread where you want to post your picture. In the new post window (new text box), right click on it and select "Paste". The IMG code will now be pasted into your text box. Write a description of the picture and select "Post Message" and bingo!...you just posted a picture!
Once you do this a few times, you'll get the hang of it. Just remember to write down and remember your username and password for photobucket or whatever site you use to host your pictures, so you can go back to them later. REMEMBER: If you go back to photobucket and delete your picture from there, it will disappear from the forum.
If you don't have a digital camera, you can take your film to Walgreens or where ever you care to go and have them put your pictures on a CD. Then you can take your CD home and load those pictures onto your hard drive. Just save them in a folder called Pictures and you'll be ready to start at Step 1.
Hope this helps those who've been wanting to post a picture but didn't quite know how to do it. If you have any questions or need assistance, send me a note and I'll be glad to talk you through it.
Be safe!
