Rode Horn Creek with two friends today, first ride on this trail for all of us, so I have no past rides to compare it to. It appeared in good shape. The logging has left some areas a bit sunny and hot, no canopy, but tolerable. No undergrowth to speak of, at least nothing like Wine Creek. There is a big washout just past 4.5m, a ravine that runs down hill in the middle of the trail, that almost caught me off guard. A few trees down, unrideable for us three (discretion & valor), probably not for the sport/expert class types. Several areas where the roots act like water breaks and have drop offs behind them. Was a bit confused as I was approaching a climb and saw a big white arrow pointing to the right, then saw how you'd end up in the creek if you weren't paying attention and tried to Tinker Jaurez the climb. All and all, very enjoyable, especially for the two newer riders with me. Thanks again SORBA-CSRA, I plan on joining soon, you guys are a class act.

Glad you enjoyed the trail, and really enjoyed reading a new rider's perspective on this old trail. One of my favorites, and after I get a new 29er full susser this fall, I am sure I will find myself back out there. It just crushes this old guy on a HT!
The "big white arrow" you are referring to is more commonly referred to as the "Red Hill" and the arrow is a very recent addition. Actually added at the last BD two years ago!

I have been riding & working on HC, and it is in good shape. There is one big nonrider in the middle of section 4.

Mark Y, Luke, and I rode HC this morning, picked up lots of branches in the trail, and cut the tree in section 4. Trail is now in pretty good shape.

8/23 Clear trail - hard to follow through tall grass in a few areas where logging occurred.

8/23 Clear trail - hard to follow through tall grass in a few areas where logging occurred. Thanks for the heads up. Once it cools off and the spiders go away, we'll be back out there. MD
