Thank you Russell and Alice! I am thrilled you'll be there too! I think our Bike Patrol Group is going to be one of the best with the caliber of people who are showing interest in it. I look forward to seeing you both there!
Bill, you'll need to get in touch with Charlie Mock. He is our CPR/First Aid instructor. If enough folks need to take the training, he'll set up a group class. If only a few need it, he can do it at his house or someone else's house in an evening. I'll send you his phone number in a PM.
Good Luck with your race Dustin! I know you'll do great! We'll probably have another Bike Patrol training class sometime after the first of the year and I'm hoping you'll be able to attend that one.

Things are moving right along for our next Bike Patrol training class on July 11. So far I have nine students signed up to take the class. There's plenty room for more so if you're interested in becoming a patroller, just let me know.
I found out yesterday that Charlie Mock will be available to conduct CPR/First Aid training that same day so I am trying to see if I can reserve the COE Visitor Center conference room for the whole day. If that works out, those who require the CPR/First Aid training can get that done on the same day and then it will just be a matter of taking the online test and sending in your NMBP application.
Of course those who can't stay the whole day and do both Bike Patrol & CPR/First Aid training are welcome to take the CPR/First Aid training at a later date when more convenient.
But first we need to find out if the room is available for us and then after that, we'll need a head count of those who'd like to take the CPR/First Aid training so Charlie will know how much equipment to bring.
Worst case is that we can't get the room for the whole day. If that happens, we'll just schedule a CPR/First Aid class as soon as possible so we can get our new patrollers on patrol!
Now that we know the IMBA World Summit is coming to Augusta, it would be fantastic if we can show the world that we have a top notch National Mountain Bike Patrol Group right here made up of members of SORBA-CSRA!!
I'll keep everybody posted using this message board. In the meantime, if you're considering joining our Bike Patrol team, please let me know as soon as possible.
Be safe! JL
