Okay, so I went down to the canal trail this afternoon to do some "touch up" work and ck out the trail.. There are now 4 trees down.. Can someone PLEASE help me with this? I work hard down there about an hour or two a week trying to keep the place maintained for all to enjoy, but I have no chainsaw and needless to say no way of moving these trees.. I thought of buying one, but my wife would kill me, and I have no experience with one.. I cleaned as best I could around them and there is only 1 new one that will require dismount (that I know of, I didn't make it the whole way around the trail).. So, now there are 3 that I know of required dismounts per lap.. I've got some time Thursday late afternoon and it would be appreciated more than you know if someone with a saw could help move these trees.. Other than these areas, I got a lot of the trail cleaned up with my slingblade and other tools, it was a real mess.. You can EM me at mosovich@comcast.net.. Thanks..

How big around are they? I don't have a chain saw, but I'd be willing to cut 'em by hand. I've got a small folding saw that'll cut anything up to about 10" with some work.
Also have a larger saw that'll do anything up to about 18".

Don't forget that SORBA has a couple of chain saws in the tool trailer. I'd recommend having someone with some experience running them. See MD.

if you ride tomorrow you will see.. one word.. BIG.. I'm thinking that one is so rotten I might be able to work it over with an axe, but it would be ALOT of work...

Right now we are 100% booked until the 16th of May. Well, actually my son-in-law is flying in for the SMC and we have to get him back to the airport on the 18th, so...
...If you can hang tight until after the SMC, YC and I will head your way and take care of them. Mark your calendar, and if the trees are still there after the 16th, repost here and I will head there with the BOB and chain saw. It's the least we can do after all the work you have put into that trail.

Thanks.. Jimmy C and I are going to see what we can get done tomorrow. If anyone wants to join in the fun, we are going to meet at 5:15 or so.. We're going to park where Riverwatch crosses the canal road, you'll see our trucks.. I drive a silver Honda Ridgeline.. It's amazing how many of those old guys fell over and how much crap they bring down with them.. I got all the debris up lastnight and tonight before the Wed. night ride, so it's pretty clean right now.. I'm sure, well, I could be wrong, that Jimmy and I won't get them all done, so I'll post update after tomorrow..
Thanks to everyone for your support!!

I have a chainsaw that is good for small to medium wood. I'm in Indiana until Friday night, but will be available all next week. PM me if there is still wood to clear and I can do it without getting in trouble with some authority.
