I have received a donation of a First Aid Bag form work. I am in the process of stocking it with supplies that we might need.
I would like to get ideas on who should hold on to the bag or even where the bag might be kept where it is easily accessible.
From there the bag could and should be used for Bike Patrols, events and work parties.
I will restock any Items used or expired.

Throwing out some ideas on what the "jump kit" should have:
Triangular Bandages SAM splint Guaze (rolls) Guaze (pads) Tape assorted "Band-Aids" gloves CPR shield first aid cream hand-sanitizer snake bite kit hard candy
edit: pen, accident report form
John should probally hold it since, as far as I know, is the only certified bike patrol member.

I have a first aid kit that I carry in my Bike Patrol hydration pack that has most of the things Brian listed and some not listed. I lack the CPR shield, the snake bite kit, and SAM splint. I carry this with me whenever I am on patrol.
I also keep another bag in the car that has more bandages, tape, and bottles of water. I'd like to populate that bag with more items to use as a re-supply bag in the event I need to use some of my first aid gear while on patrol.
I'd be happy to be the keeper of the bag Charlie mentions if you'd like. I'll keep it secured in the car to take it with me when I go on patrol and also when participating in work parties. Just let me know when and where to get it.

Put it in a dry bag and leave it on the trail? We used to do this for rivers that were patrolled

As of right now it has everything that Brian listed except
CPR shield - which I am still working on getting first aid cream snake bite kit - not recommended just bandage and immobilize hard candy - we have instant glucose instead. May not taste as good but works better.
There is also some other equipment in it like
a bottle of sterile saline to clean an injury large syringes to use with the sterile saline to help flush injuries or eyes triangular bandages alcohol prep pads large transparent dressings Mole skin emergency blanket bandage scissors
I think John would be a good person to hold onto the bag. The other Idea I thought of would be to leave it at Chain Reaction (if Phil agrees.) There it would be easily accessible since most people know if they are going to go to a Patrol or work party or event at least a few days in advance.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks, Charlie Mock

I'd like to use it as a training aid once we start the Bike Patrol classes. I could use it to show the students the types of things we carry with us and also what we have in ready supply should we need it.
Phil is going to join the Patrol so we can leave it there if he doesn't mind. That way we'd all know where it is and could draw items from it as needed. We'd have to make sure we let Charlie know so he could restock it.
Let me know what ever you decide.

Easy come easy gone.
Somebody broke into my car last night and stole the First Aid Bag along with about $2000 worth of other stuff.
I will try and acquire another bag.
If anyone sees a bright yellow bag with the Star of Life on the top. Stop them and call the cops.

Good news I have gotten anouther First Aid Bag donated to us. I have it mostly stocked but I still need to get a few more items.
This time I am not going to leave it in the car to get stolen.

A roll of duct tape is always a good addition. You're looking for field expedient and it does wonders.
