A friend and I rode modoc and connected to turkey via forest roads and pavement. We came out past the speedy (we did not ride by the speedway), so I believe that we made a wrong turn somewhere between the end of modoc and the road that the speedway is on. Looking a dgaddis' google map link, I believe we came out down from the speedway right past a house. At the end of modoc we turned left and crossed powerlines at a white gate. Any idea where we went wrong. It wa still a good ride , we rode turkey and took pavement back to modoc. I just don't want to tresspass and be the one made an example of.

At the end of modoc we turned left and crossed powerlines at a white gate. Any idea where we went wrong. Right there is where you went wrong (I think). You shouldn't cross the powerlines. When you finish Modoc, at the 5.5 mile "turn around" point, and you turn left and go up the hill, you get to the white gate. Go just past the gate, turn left and follow the edge of the power lines less than 20ft, keeping you eye's to your left, and you should see what used to be a clear path going through the woods, almost in the same direction you just came from, that's the path you should take, it'll take you to a cul'de'sac. You should NOT cross the powerlines, you don't even have to get in the clearing. If the path you came up from the trail was at 6 o'clock, the path you should be looking for is probably somewhere between 7 and 8 o'clock. If my memory serves me correctly... Hope that help!

Thanks for the distructions. We went across at the gate and hit a dirt road and ended up down from the speedway. If it is not raining this weekend we will probably try to take the correct route. I believe I understand where it is on your google maps link now. Great link by the way.

You were on private property for a while. During hunting season, it would have been a bigger deal. Next week is turkey season, so be careful.
