Actually a very enjoyable ride. Although it is supposed to remain the most technical trail we have, I don't consider trees that are as high as my shoulders to be technical challenges. The problem is that one tree (at probably the 4.75 mile range from the parking lot) is huge. I am not sure that any of us volunteers should challenge this tree. There are several other trees that could be left, or could be removed. It is up to the chain sawyer and the rules in use at that time. Some of these I have intentionally left in the past, and some of these are getting ramped. It had a tad bit of standing water in a few areas, but nothing that would cause me to tell anyone not to ride it. MD

leave the rest of the trees......... I rode the trail today, cleaned everything heading out from the car. Heading back to the car I had to dab on the last creek crossing. That rock is trouble if the creek has water.

That rock is trouble if the creek has water. Thanks for your insightful input. Stevens Creek is indeed considered our most technical trail, and as such it is left with more trail obstacles than many of the others. That said, keep in mind that it too is governed by typical chainsaw rules: He who has the chainsaw makes the rules. When riding Stevens Creek it should be obvious that efforts are made to leave some for you more "advanced" riders to play with. MD
