OP here,
Looks like we have a leader in the club house with 13.
I have gotten over my fear of cold weather riding this year. I finally realized that if I wait for only the good weather days i will not ride that much this winter.
Its only 37 right now, but I hitting the door for a 4 mile run. Need to drop some LB's

Well I think the rule goes something like this.
For every 10 degree drop temp. You lose 2 psi in your tire. Now thats for your car, not sure what it would be for a bike tire, but it would be softer.

I thought I was crazy when I headed up to FATs today, but i was shocked when I got there and saw 5 cars in the parking lot.
I promised myself I would not have an off season this year. Its not going well. My weight is inching up.
Here is the Challenge. Who can record the coldest ride at FATs.
Ride at least 1hr at FATS post the temp. (honor system)
I'll start Today- 41 degrees.
I would love to see someone post a 20 degree 7am ball freezer.

1. The trail is softer, more sand and mud. 2. You are up a couple of LB's 3. In cold air 02 shrinks in your tire, making them softer, bet you rode over 50 psi this summer.
I rode skinny today and it took me 48 min, just could nt get going, but i felt great when I got home!

I understand there is some talk about moving the race from May to september of 2010, because of the IMBA meeting in the 706.
I would vote not to move it.
Due to the success of the Augusta 1/2 Ironman. Many people will use the ironman to end their season. So they will be training for 3 sports. If you move the Sumter race, you will lose some folks that focus on the Triathlon. I would like to see the race go forward this spring as it was a great event the we can grow.
If we pick a date and stick to it each year, we can grow this race to 150 riders. And some how add part of FATS and you will have a hit with racers.

You can do it! Go for it! I feel people need to sign up for events the will push them. It sound like you could do 10k, But why bother. Take the next step. Start with the group rides at outspoken or chainreaction....But sign up asap! You will start down the road of a great journey. You will find that what you will remember about the race in 2010 is not the day you cross the finish line, but the people you meet along the way that helped you train. Good luck.
