Saturday/Sunday over 2 weekends would work out best. It should be long rides if we split it into two weekends. How about Long Cane Massacre one weekend, then road race around lake the next with a time trial at the tower!

Agreed Bill! Sad day indeed! One would think with a $5000 road bike, doing super secret road rides that they could at least ride a couple of laps with a 3 to 4 person team? -or- Sip on beer and volunteer!

I know two folks coming to hang out, I doubt they'll want to race but will run it across them. We already have enough water girls, I guess Chris and Eric are going to be extra water girls for whoever may need them? ;D
Man, I'm ready to ride! #9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9#9..........

I've passed on the word to some good peeps in M'ville who have a fairly large group of riders. Is there any updates for the BD? Hopefully they will find this info. Wasn't sure where to tell them but they're very computer savvy. Bud and Janice, y'all come on up for some good singletrack!

Sorry bro, you must not have been on the team that protested the 1st place cause those guys got wrapped up in the 2nd/3rd place protest as well....there was one team trying to tell us they did 21 laps over our 20 and that they got 1st. Not sure if that was your team, apologies if so. Not trying to flame anyone, just stating the obvious. Those guys finally realized it was impossible to have 21 laps especially with their times. You'd have to have at least all 37 minute or less lap times. We passed several of the 2nd/3rd place guys on several occasions and never got passed by anyone. Glad we got it worked out for 1st, never saw any reason for a protest on that but there was. I was ready to go home and enjoy some cold beer out of my pint glass and got tangled up in the mess.

Robf- Thanks man, I appreciate you passing me on my last lap, helped me speed up a little and hang on so my boys could bring home the bacon with lap 19 and 20. How many laps you guys get in? You were riding strong all day! Bill- Agree on the obstacles, that log pyramid was fun launching over, can't believe folks made an extra line around that. Must've been a buncha' roadies!

Bill- those ringers all are from the big family I like to call the Milledgevegas clan. What started off as a small hole in the wall bike shop (Bike Tech>Oconee Outfitters) I worked at in college has turned into a Dynasty. Props to my old friends Bill Gibson, Bud and Janice Merritt (former owners of Oconee Outfitters) for promoting the sport in middle GA and raising some serious 'ringers'! We couldn't come up with a name so Matt and Charles both like my idea- "Team Black Moth"
I agree with you on Milo- what freakin' trooper!

Thank you CSRA-SORBA for putting on another great event! Apologies to Dan and fellow volunteers if I acted pissy during the protest for 3 man competition. We rode hard for that victory and knew we won it. A decision could have waited until today but those guys knew the truth. Glad things got worked out and the others sucked up their pride and admitted their defeat.
Time to get the FATS built and start riding hard! Troy Team Black Moth

After working 110 hours Master's week I'll at least have the endurance to be alert for 13 hours, not sure about the riding part though.
Got a 3 man team together, will register DOE. Looking forward to it! How many 3 man teams are registered Paul? I fiugre if there is only 2 I can finally get my hands on one of those pint glasses.

One other thing i thought of and this may not be very cost-efficient: For trails such as Horn Creek, Turkey, Bartram we could put signs with the forestry road #s located as you cross those roads. For instance the (directional) brown signs we already have just place a weatherproof sticker with the road that you are coming across. Just my $0.04 to help those who have short term memory loss and cannot remember every road they cross. After seeing it multiple times after several rides I believe some folks could keep it in their long term memory. If not then they need to attend a "safety meeting".

Finally got internet at home so I'll be much more productive (or not?).
I think our trails are the most accessible out of the many trails I've ridden across the US. The responsibility is the rider(s) and crew to know certain take-outs and roads, etc.
I guess an easy-to-read printable map on the internet along with educating the masses would be best to let folks know the responsibilities of mountain biking. Responsibility being the key word here, a training session would be great but who is going to be responsible and take time to participate?
Maybe it's none of my business but how did the rider break his tib/fib? Bridge crossing, hucking off a log? I know the pine straw can be dangerous for your pancreas! Just ask Row Boy!
