All the trees have been chainsawed off thanks to the Drawdy's and it was a grueling day for them since there were a lot of trees down. Dale and Jon handled DR mowing tasks for 6 hours on the final 2 miles of Turkey Creek, Bryan and David handled the DR work on the first mile of the trail, Marco and Eric handled the hedgetrimmer from about the 3.5 to 5.5 mile mark. In spite of all the good efforts and 6+ hours of hard work there is a section that must be rescheduled (between the 1 mile cul de sac and the 3.5 mile mark). Thanks to everyone who came out we'll have them cleared soon!

We had a good ride on a fun, clear trail. Thanks to everyone who worked last Saturday. Even though the trail may not have been cleared between the 1 mile & 3.5 mile point, it is mostly clear. The FS burn helped and we trimmed the very few low & big enough to cause problems. So now there are only a few spots where the foliage encroaches, nothing major, but just enought to make you slow & think about ticks (I took only one from the woods). We did see some wildlife - deer, a box turtle, salamanders, the remains of a paper wasp nest, and something I did not expect - 2 black goats. Jon T. told me about stories of goats on Wine causing riders problems. Who'd of thunk it?

Had a good ride Sunday evening, starting from the culdesac. Never use to start there, but it changes up the ride & has become my favorite start point for TC. Although I do like parking @ Price's Bottom Field & taking the rebuilt train bridge, I think starting from the other end is more of a kick in the pants to get you going.
