I ride a lone most of the time. My wife knows which trail I am on and about when I should return. I personally would not leave a note on my car advertising when I'll be back. This might be viewed by a criminal as which car to hit and which to avoid.
For search and rescue at FATS one suggestion might be to use mt bikers on the loops themselves. Cover more terrain faster. I know that I would not hesitate to ride a loop if asked by emergency personal. Maybe a better working relationship with the SORBA-CSRA NMBP.

Getting ready to ride yesterday we noticed what looks like broken safety glass from a vehicle on the ground on the left side of the parking area closest to the trailhead. Don't know how long it has been there but just in case this was a break-in please use caution so we don't start having the problems at FATS that we had at Bartram - West Dam parking area a few years back: - Make sure you don't leave valuables visible in your car
- Leave things at home that you don't need to bring
Maybe there is some other reason for the broken safety glass so if anyone knows the real story, please share!

FWIW If you're looking for an awesome vest for hunting season, Realcyclist has the Mavic Vision vest on sale in smaller sizes. www.realcyclist.com/mavic-vision-cycling-vest-mensIf you've never seen one of these, they're bright. Like, they have their own power source kind of bright. Like, blind people can see you bright. -dk

Wow that is a mighty fine vest! Mine is a 5 dollar WalMart special! +1 I've got a mesh cloth vest, nice and bright, but you don't notice it's there heat wise.
