First time on either of these loops today...early on a Sunday. These don’t seem frequented as much as the rest of FATS, which was evident by only one other car in the lot(turned out to be a runner). Not sure why these guys don’t get as much love cuz they are probably some of the more fun trails in the system. A good mix of flowly lines, technical sections, nearly equal parts up and downhill and even some obstacles for those who like jumps and drops. There are a few spots that have the closest thing to an actual dirt jump on the whole system. Maybe the relative shortness of the two loops is a del breaker for most. It was just under 8 miles total for the two loops based on MapMyRuns’ mountain bike setting. The trail has a more primitive feel to it, but in a good way. If it were not for the 6 or 7 downed large trees, the trails would be perfect. A bit of chain saw action for a day and it’ll be great. If I were in charge, I’d suggest turning the really large pine tree down on (I think it was tower) running the length of the trail into a trail feature. I’d cut all the brush off the tree, then flat saw the trunk along its length to use it as a cool natural bridge and balance obstacle. Definitely one of my new favorite quick ride trails.

Corey these actually are actually favorite trails for quite a few people but they won't get the activity level of the south trails. Many people don't park in that parking lot since they ride from the south parking lot over and then do loops on the south side too. We (SORBAcsra) had a lot going on this year and none of the trails got quite as much attention as they deserved for sure. The FATS reface was underway and is in fact still in progress with quite a bit of more work to do on those south loops!

I can see why it’s a favorite. I think it’s my new fav as well. With the epic effort done to get ready for flowmaster after those storms I’m sure there was little band width to include the other trails. Hopefully I can help out with the work when it comes time.
