So glad you ventured back out to Wine Creek for a ride, if you haven't checked out our other outlying trails in a while I think you will also be pleasantly surprised by how much fun is waiting out there for you.
With the early spring weather we have been enjoying we will likely be out working on the trails earlier than usual to cut back encroaching foliage that is just around the corner. If you have the time, watch the forum for work party updates and come out and join us. Great way to spend time with fellow mountain bikers and help keep the trails cleared for riding!
I probably don't have to mention how diverse our mountain biking community is but it truly is a very diverse group of people. The common ground is supporting the organization who advocates for the trails and helps the various land managers keep 150 miles of trail in our area maintained. It also means buying and maintain equipment, organizing work parties, working with the land managers, helping at community events, holding rides, putting on social events, etc. All that said anyone can support/join the organization and we do not have control of those members, they are not our employees. Some are fun, friendly people and quite frankly others can be quite prickly in their interaction with others. So glad you were able to handle the situation at hand and still move on quickly to enjoy an outstanding ride on the Wine Creek Trail.
Hope you will come out to some of our events and work parties (if you haven't). Our next ride will be at the Horn Creek Trail in the Lick Fork Recreation Area on Sunday, April 2nd at 1:30pm! Hope to see you there.

Sad to say Wine is a mess after the storms last week. Most of the mess is the usual area that will be taken out with the reroute but if you want to enjoy the ride in the meantime, it needs a saw and cleaned up.

Pilcher and I finished cutting trees today; a couple riders were left. I believe Mark Hanna cut a bunch last week. The hornets found John at the last tree... New trail is very nice- needs wheels. Some parts have become a little trickier in the last year- rock garden, for example. Very fun trail now.

Thanks JT, JP and Mark! Sorry about the hornets Pilcher. I hope you are OK. Yes, Wine is a fun trail now and riding TC/Wine is our favorite old school ride in the CSRA.
