Time to mobilize some equipment and volunteers and get Horn Creek (Lick Fork) cleaned up! We need at least 10 volunteers and will be bringing the 3 DR mowers and at least 2 weed whackers, if we get more people we can wrap this work up even faster. If you can spare 3 or so hours we would greatly appreciate the help. Feel free to bring your bike along and catch a ride afterward. Bring a friend along too, that is a great way to introduce someone to the fun and comraderie of trail work! This trail used to be the Baker's Dozen race route and is a fun, challenging trail. It actually has great input points so it is easy to break the trail up into manageable segments when doing work parties. If you can join us please contact me at SORBAcsra@gmail.comNever ride out at the Lick Fork Recreation Area, that is perfectly okay, come on out and lend a hand! Stay tuned for more details, Thank you!

We ended up with 12 volunteers for the work party which meant we were able to put teams out on every segment of this trail. With 3 DR mowers and 4 weed whackers mobilized, this trail is now ready all it needs are wheels. Check this trail out, we will be sliding into fall soon and like many of these outlying trails the fall colors and unique features/terrain of these trails are great. Many, many thanks to all those who came out to help today. If you were not able to this time, please make it a priority to volunteer at one of our future work parties if you ride any of our local trails. Thanks! About half of our volunteers - others had already been dispersed to work locations! Section 3 - cleared by two teams wielding weed whackers. Section 4 - cleared with a team with a DR mower and a team with a weed whacker.
