I was out there on Monday the 19th, actually I have been out there just about everyday for the last month and a half, and Boyd's was excellent in both directions.

There is a non rider at the end of the main trail on the last big downhill after the ramp but before the 4 way cross section if you are going CCW.

Alas Hemi only Forest Service certified sawyers can cut on Forest Service managed land so we need to wait until one of our certified sawyers can get Big Rock onto their list! The majority of our trails are on Forest Service managed land so keeping the trees off can be a challenge.

Boyd also fast and dry. The Aiken area tornado dumped a tangle of pines on the road up to the observatory above the ball fields. Many cleared, still one non rider on the loop around them.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. Went to Boyd's Pond this morning for a quick ride and found part of the trail had been bulldozed. It's the first part of the trail where it is mostly flat and you kind of double back on yourself a couple of times. The part where you drop down the little small whoop then you have to make an immediate left is completely gone. There is also a section just before that where they pushed a bunch of trees down on the trail as well. Really hate this has happened I use Boyd's a lot. I ran into the land owners of the property that runs beside the trail and they said the company that is clearing the land for them was suppose to stay 20 feet away from the trail but they messed up in that spot. Guess some of us need to get together and see what we can do to fix the part of the missing trail. Gonna be real hot in the section now because there is no trees. Let me know if I can help and when. I have been thinking about going out there with some loppers and other tools to clear out some of the underbrush anyway.

Comparing a GPS track of the Boyd Pond trail to Aiken County GIS parcel boundaries suggests that four or 5 sections of the trail cross onto private property. YMMV.

Some one came out last week and established new trail in the two spots where it has disappeared. Thanks.
I went out this morning and continued their work at the section near Good Golly, clearing the path of limbs and defining it a bit more, so it looks like everything is ready to ride again.
