Thanks for all you all do up there on the LCHT - truly one of the best trails in our area! I love it when we can make it up there to ride.
No doubt you have bigger challenges since your multi-use includes horses but you all manage to keep the trails great in spite of that challenge!

Thanks Angela, luckily we have a good group of guys that jump in anytime trail circumstances require it. In other news the newest member to our group rides is a trail maintaining machine. He's responsible for most of the work lately. He ran the DR over our highest sections. It's not uncommon for someone to say these trails are the best shape they have ever been in.

The trails are in great shape, they were extremely dry before the snow. The moisture got sucked up and left the trails in perfect shape. We even rode the outer loop sections we've been working on reclaiming. All it needs is wheels now and it will be as good as the lower loop we normally ride.

Long Cane is done till things dry out some, we can only hope the horses don't destroy it over the holidays.

Went out for a scouting ride this morning and ended up doing the entire inner loop. Being our trails get limited traffic and the horses haven't touched it I was shocked it was in as good a shape as it was. A few soft spots but overall it was very solid. The leaves and pine straw saved a lot of it. If this wind keeps up and the sun stays out like this for a few days the conditions should drastically improve over the next couple days.

Once again LCHT handled the rain pretty good. Multiple reports came back positive. A few soft spots but the leaves seem to be our saving grace because of the lack of horse traffic and over abundance of wheels on the trail. The overcast isn't helping any, hopefully some wind and sun dry things up before the next front comes thru. I wouldn't hesitate to do the whole trail.

We pretty much got all the rain everyone else did in the southeast over the holidays. Our trail has been maintaining the water great but this is going to take awhile to dry up. Just hope the horses haven't been to bad on it over the holidays. Another couple days like Christmas day and today the conditions should greatly improve over the weekend. Planning on a scouting ride tomorrow to spot check our known low spots to see how much moisture remains and ill report back post ride with the conditions.
