It's the power line that drops off the road to the observatory. Was the original starting point of trail before the upper parking lot was closed.

It's the power line that drops off the road to the observatory. Was the original starting point of trail before the upper parking lot was closed. We didn't clear that section because that is entrance where the "closed" sign was posted and we didn't want to get in the way of their operation collecting ice storm debris from county residents. I'm sure when the park is officially open again, one of our locals will go out and take care of that last tangle.

The sign at the main entrance to Boyd Pond Park says "Park Reopens Sat". There is still a blockage at the bottom of the power line that can be cleared with a folding saw/loppers. The singletrack west of the pond also needs some lopper work, but other than that the trail is in pretty good shape.

Trail is really well rolled in right now. Getting a lot of riders. There is a small detour to left at bottom of Free Ride around deadfall clump but thats it . Lower loop on lake side also recently trimmed back too.

I cleared the debris from the bottom of the power line (Free Ride) today, a reroute had already formed but the original line is better.

Is the trail in good condition to ride tomorrow? I know it drains well but just wondering about overgrowth and down trees.
