When: Saturday April 6, 2013 at 1:30pm Where: FATS - north trailhead What: Big Rock and Tower - 9+ miles of rockin' rollin' terrain!
These trails are intermediate trails packed into some diverse terrain on the north side of Hopewell Church/Deep Step Road. If you haven't ridden these two trails yet, come check out the cool cedar bridge and the namesake rocks on Big Rock and a quick stop at the actual tower reminds you that a good downhill is ahead no matter which direction you are heading. They are suitable for for fit novice riders as well. There will be ride leaders and someone riding sweep so no one will be left behind.
You do not have to be a member of SORBAcsra to join us so bring your family and friends.
In the event the weather or trail conditions are not acceptable, the ride will be cancelled so watch for postings here!
Questions?? sorba.csra@gmail.com or post here

I'm looking forward to EtT on April 6, but I can't find good directions to the FATS North trailhead. Can someone post directions? Thanks, SomeguyfromMaryland (Relative newbie to CSRA)

Thanks, SomeguyfromMaryland (Relative newbie to CSRA) This is a link to our Google map of the north trailhead parking area. Google maps for the other trails in the CSRA can be found on our trails page.

And to clarify a little further, when you look at the Google map you will see a yellow line connecting from Hopewell Church Road to the northern trailhead. That yellow line represents Forest Service road 661 which is a gravel road that leads to the trailhead parking lot (a gravel lot on the left side of USFS 661).
It is the only established gravel road that turns off Hopewell Church Road on that side of the road.
