The City has had to close a portion of the Greeneway, just north of Riverview Park between the Activities Center and Cypress Drive. There is a massive slope failure where a creek crosses under the trail that is threatening the trail. The closure is indefinite at this time while we figure out a fix for the source of the problem, then fill & reinforce the embankment. This will be a major inconvenience for alot of trail users. There is a ride-around option throught the adjacent neighborhood (or a very primitive trail on the river bluff, or bushwhack down the powerline).

This is not good news but the ground has truly absorbed a lot of water in the past 3 weeks.

Walked by the repair work a few days ago and it looks like it is about ready to be opened. Hope it happens soon.

Although bikers and walkers alike have been disregarding signs and locked gates for weeks, the trail should be officially opened by Friday afternoon.
