Come join our second Explore the Trail ride for 2013 at Hickory Knob State Park. This is a great trail any time of the year but the lake views during the winter months are stunning! Our last two EtTR rides had 29 riders - time to push it over the 30 rider mark! We'll meet at the big red barn at 130pm on Saturday, February 2nd There are three trails, just over 10 miles total - the main one is the Lake Loop at 7 miles long, plenty of people will ride all three loops or do the Lake Loop more than once but if you want to come out and check out this great trail we will have people riding sweep so no chance you'll be left behind. It's fun, fast flowing, and perfectly suitable for reasonably fit novice riders. You do not have to be a member to join these rides, bring your friends, family, everyone who loves to mountain bike! Here is the link to the SORBA-CSRA information on the trail: www.sorbacsra.org/Trails/HickoryKnob.htmKeep an eye on the website, we will not ride if weather or trail conditions are not good!

The storm coming in is bringing a lot of wind before and during the storm. Keep an eye out for updates here before heading up on Saturday morning!

The ride is on, come on out! There will no doubt be some seepy areas but since it will be 2 1/2 days post rain the trail should be in good condition. There may be a log or so down due to the wind but that shouldn't be much of a deterrent. This is a great trail with some stellar views!

Another great ETtR! The weather started out a bit cool but was mid 50s before the ride was over. 17 riders came out to ride this really great trail. If you didn't make it out and have not ridden this trail, make the time and check it out. That's the Big Red Barn in the background! This is definitely one of the most scenic trails in the area...... The rocks are a fun trail feature up or down! Trail conditions were nearly perfect - there were a few juicy spots but overall the trail tread was great, and only one tree down from the front that rolled through.... One of my favorite sections of this trail.. See good temps - our Prez taking another lap! JP3 right behind for a second lap... This is a really nice state park on the South Carolina side and a lot of people were out golfing, hiking, biking, etc....

Thanks for the pics Angela. Great day, with a lot of riders of all abilities. That was awesome. Youngest rider was around 16 (B. Boeke), oldest was, well, let's just say north of 50. Fantastic turnout. The EtTR has been supported by and encouraged by the club, and it shows.
