Took my new bike to Bartram today. rode from Pburg to 1.3 miles. Roots are popping up in some places. There are also some wet spots. Went the other direction also the trail is fine rideable with some wet spots. A tree is down at mile 7.3.

Three of us rode Petersburg and on to lake springs loop before a major mechanical shutdown ride. Trail clear. A few unusual seeps were drying out quickly and should be gone with a couple more warm days.

Rode from Pburg to mile marker 12.5 and back today. The trail is pretty dry. A few trees were down but nothing major. At about mile 11.5 there is a tree across the trail it looks like you can ride under it but don't try it.

Today I rode from Wildwood to mile marker 11. A few trees were down but nothing major. The upper part of Bartram is pretty good. There is a sign at the trailhead in wildwood that it is an advanced trail. No way there are a few more dips and creek crossings than the other end of the trail but it is still an intermediate trail. The trail was fast and except hot the beginning was well groomed.

The sign is more due to the distance between WW and the 'burg (9+ miles one way) and not the difficulty of the terrain.

Rode from the 'burg to the Dam and then out to the Big Dip (mile 11) clearing the trail of cobwebs for my fellow trail users. Two non-riders. One by the metal bridge and the second right after the Big Dip in one of the smaller dips. Also there is a rider between 7 -7.5 that I would classify as a sloppy rider. Might give some a hard time how it is positioned. More of a large twisted limb then log.

Team Steve was out last Wednesday (9-25) and rode Bartram from Petersburg to Wildwood. Reported trail in good shape but they did cut (handsaw)and clear three fallen trees and about half a dozen limbs. Three trees will need a chainsaw and they should be cleared in this next week. On Saturday, National Public Lands Day (09-28) we hauled the DR mowers out to cut the airstrip. The job itself took about 30 minutes but it was an hour driving in since we had to battle a convention of wasps in the locking cylinder of the gate and pull the chainsaw out for three trees that were down across the input road. Here is the airstrip before: Two DR mowers in great working order make quick work of the mowing jobs like this! And after - the airstrip is ready for Take a Kid Mountain Biking on Saturday (Oct 5th) and the Fall BikeFest on November 2nd.

non-rider after the second bridge (but before the "keg creek" sign) from the burg heading to the dam. About 10" in diameter and is 18" above the trail.

We'll get it taken care of before BikeFest. Thanks for the update.

How is the loop? Does it need any work before Bike Fest?

I rode Bartram this after noon from Petersburg to mile marker 12.5, then back to mile marker 2.5, then back to Petersburg and the trail was an excellent condition. If it doesn't rain tonight you can maybe sneak in a good ride before the rain moves in tomorrow.

Spent some time doing trail work today due to the rain. Good thing we got to this mess when we did, a ride around was forming. This was very close to West Dam and easy to take care of on the way home from Turkey:

non-rider about half way between Lake springs and the Sail Club road. Easy walk over and I do not believe a ride around will form.

A good ride today from Petersburg to Lake Springs and back. Two non riders on Lake Springs loop. The light was funny today and all 3 of us had trouble keeping the trail. The trail was completely dry except for one deeper on Lake Springs.

There is a non rider down in the middle of the trail at 3.2 miles just before the stone out crop. The big dip is desirable but there is one muddy area at the end that makes it tricky.

The lake is really up from the last rain, there is lots of water in the dip about mile 9 and trail is under water in several more spots.
