This ride is on - and an even more compelling reason to join us is the free hunting days in South Carolina this coming weekend (hunters allowed on all public lands without hunting licenses over the coming weekend)! Boyd Pond is a county park so no hunting allowed there - time to come check it out if you haven't ridden there before!

Great turnout for this ride! 29 riders showed up to take on the Boyd Pond Trail. The trail was in phenomenal shape and someone had blown off the trail to make it visible in all the fall leaves! Totally cool with the number of riders on the trail since Boyd Pond snakes back and forth bringing riders close to each other repeatedly during the ride. At times three or even four layers of riders were visible. Here is most of the group just before the start of the ride - Turns out today was Russell Hale's 50th birthday which lead to some fun at Clown' Corner - The approach.... Looking up the ramp .... Looking down the ramp.... And here comes Russell!!! Many did not make the hill but were very surprised to see the grim reaper tag team at the top of the hill! Grim reaper tag team with Russell!

Wonderful EtTR!!!! That is one of the absolute all-time highs for number of riders to attend. Add the fact that it occurred at one of the least traveled trails in the CSRA, and it is indeed impressive. Thanks to all that go out of their way to put on the monthly trail rides. Sometimes you end up with 7, sometimes you end up with 29 Sorry I missed it (in Chas. for the weekend) but so happy that my SO (Yetichick) was able to make the ride, and ride with some great friends. OC: You are a month or so late, but welcome to the 50-club dude! MD

Great turnout! Started building this trail in the late 90's. Glad you all seemed to like twisty and turney. Come back and ride it.

29 this month, last month at Mistletoe there were about the same number. Maybe more people want to get away from FATS and Bartram and try the trails less used. I know for me when I moved to the CSRA my first rides at Modoc, Wine, Turkey and Lick Forks were all EtTS rides. This past June I finally rode Long Cane. Again an EtTS.
When I talk to riders at FATS and Bartam, a lot do not know about other trails in the area. I have mentioned the trail section here along with the EtTS rides and the ladies only rides. A few I have seen after they rode one of the old school rides are have said positive thins about them.

Happy birthday Russell!!! So glad to see such a great turnout for the ETTR! I have very fond memories of this trail from my Aiken days. I used to ride it about twice a week with my good friend, Marsha (w/Aiken Motorcycle Sales....a shameless plug for a friend's business).
Wish I could have joined you all but I was busy getting my butt kicked at the Snake. ;o)

Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. It was good to see so many riding(The Pond)I remember I few years ago at the EtTR that less than five showed to ride The Pond.I have put many training miles on that Trail training for a few 24 hour races.I am thankful that Aiken County bought the Park and it is still available to the public, we almost lost it to some developers.
