We're visiting this weekend and have ridden FATS and both sides of Bartram on previous trips. Thinking of riding Modoc for something different Saturday and wonder if there is anything we should know or watch for as new riders there. I've seen "Jaws" mentioned in other threads...curious as to what that's about? Is the parking area easily found and marked?
There's a big rock close to the entrance you've probably seen pictures of if you've looked through the Modoc thread. You'll see if coming though. Amazing trail. You should love it. I think there was a group out there recently and the "jaws" creek crossing was dry so you shouldn't have much issues.
Parking is clearly marked. Coming from 28, it's at the bottom of big hill just before a bridge. If you're cruising, you could blow right by it before you could slow down.
I'm sure you already have this piece but just in case - Modoc trail is located on 23 - a right turn off 28 if you are heading north out of Augusta. Use this link to plug in your address and get turn by turn directions! Was my favorite mountain biking trail when I first started riding (for the scenery and terrain diversity certainly not the ease )
