Where: Wine Creek/Turkey Creek Trails When: Saturday, September 1st, 9:00AM A work party is underway to give this terrific set of trails a little sprucing up. Normally the annual Mow-a-Thon held on these two trails is more than sufficient to hold the foliage at bay until the growing season slows but this year the rain has really brought it back with a vengeance! Riders have options since this is an in/out trail system - ride just Wine (in/out 10 miles) or commit and do both for a solid nearly 25 mile ride or anything inbetween! Stay tuned for starting location and weather/trail conditions as we get closer!Check out the links below for more information. If you haven't ridden these classic singletrack trails (pre-FATS these two were probably the most popular of the trails in the area) before this is the perfect opportunity. sorbacsra.org/Trails/WineCreek.htmsorbacsra.org/Trails/TurkeyCreek.htm

Park at Price's Bottom parking area and meet on Key Bridge. Here is the google link maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=112493191138240861154.0004351308c52f1b7228a&ll=33.795982,-82.147264&spn=0.040585,0.046606&z=14 scroll down to find Price's Bottom. Going north on Key Road the turn off to Price's Bottom is before Key Bridge on the left (dirt/gravel rd). Once parked follow the trail up to Key Bridge. John Pilcher will be the ride leader. In the event the weather or trail conditions are not good the ride will be cancelled so watch postings here!

On this older seasoned trail that gets far less wheels, if the rain truly stops on Thursday the ETTR for Saturday will more than likely still be a go - just take a look here before heading up to the trail!

Don't forget to come out on Saturday for this ride! These Explore the Trails rides are a great way to check out the other over 100+ miles of trail in the CSRA once you step away from FATS.
The diversity of the trails with their varied terrain, lengths, and trail features will add great variety to your trail riding experience. Also most of the other trails weave you near a variety of water features - lakes, creeks, etc - for more of your ride.
Probably most important, these outlying trails will definitely do more to increase your skillset as a mountain biker than a flow trail like FATS can provide.
Turkey and Wine are ready to go, whether you are a novice rider or a hammerhead this trail system is for you - customize your ride to the length and speed you want to go!

We had 7 people for the ride at Turkey this morning. Trail was in excellent shape!
Thanks to all who worked the previous weeks to cut logs, mow jungle-like growth, and clear the trail.
Unfortunately, one stick must have fallen since the last work party and wouldn't you know that JT's rear derailleur decided to chew on it for a while.
