Might want to check out one of the local bike shops too - sometimes they are aware of customers who might be looking for a team mate!

Guys I'm new in Augusta and I'm looking for a team for the BD. If you want to join a team for a 4-person send me a PM. And if I sign up as a single and someone wants to join later is that possible or do we all have to sign up together? Patrick

Yes adjustments can be made just not through Active.com! Just let us know and we'll get you to the correct person to make the change.

Four weeks to go and then it is game on! You don't want to miss this. If you are coming make sure if you are camping to secure a spot early, the campgrounds fill up early in the fall since the weather is more conducive to camping!

To the CSRA mountain biking community, Word on the street is that there is a lot of excitement about the upcoming Baker’s Dozen and many of you already have formed teams, are in the process of forming teams, or have decided to ride solo. This is great news and we are even more excited to put on this race for you. Unfortunately, the number of riders currently signed up is well below the number we had at this point last year. We realize that many local riders wait until the last minute to sign up, but this year we are asking that you sign up as soon as possible and continue to spread the word to your friends and other riders. This race began as a grass roots event for our local riders and has become the primary fundraiser that supports our volunteer efforts to build and maintain over 150 miles of trail in the CSRA. After a brief hiatus, we have resurrected the Baker’s Dozen because you, our local riders, have been asking for it. In order to keep the tradition of a SORBAcsra Baker’s Dozen going strong, we need you, the local riders, to participate and support this event. Please sign up at www.active.com/cycling/edgefield-sc/bakers-dozen-2012 and help get the word out to your friends and riding buddies. It’s not just our race, this is your Baker’s Dozen. Thank you!

Get your Terrible Towels! The only way to get one is to sign up for the Baker's Dozen 2012. You can use them to wipe off the sweat after your hot lap, clean your bike, clean your bike's chain, etc. They all have a grommet and hook so you can hang it off your bike bag. MD

Sweet! Looking forward to the race! My fingers are crossed for weather like last year. Big thanks to you and YC for getting me and Nevin out for BD laps yesterday.

Went out to do a little trail maintenance today, it had rained a little just enough to knock the dust down. Several riders out there doing some training rides, trail in great shape! As we usually do, we will draw (from the registered riders) periodically during the Baker's Dozen race for various SWAG. Rumor has it that some of that SWAG will be certificates for a Thompson seat post or stem! None of the riders we met today had pre-registered yet but planned to participate so the field is growing!

Just a reminder - coming into Lick Fork Recreation Area you will be required to pay a parking fee of $3 per car whether you are there as a participant or a spectator.
There will be a parking attendant at the kiosk on the day of the event but in the event they are not there at the time you come in, please stop and pay your money and get a parking pass (so you will not get a ticket). Campers in the Lick Fork Recreation area do not have to pay an additional parking fee!

There will be a group of riders that will be meeting at Horn Creek on Thursday night for an easy ride starting at 6pm. Meet in the parking lot at the trailhead (don't forget to pay the $3 parking fee!) - there will be a lap or so with daylight and then a night lap. This is an excellent opportunity to check out this trail at night particularly if you are doing the Baker's Dozen!

Just had an update on the registered riders (don't have the names though) and the field is growing very nicely! Thanks to all who have pre-registered makes it much easier to plan for the event. Don't forget pre-registration ends tonight at midnight. You can still participate even if you don't pre-register just show up the day of the event for the 7:30am registration. Remember, even if you are not in prime race shape right now you are doing this for a good cause and to have some fun. This is THE major fund raiser for SORBAcsra for the year - takes a lot to keep this equipment up and running or replace it to keep our trails in good shape! Sign up, come out, have some fun and start checking out the other riders (people have been known to nab their next year's team at the event ) See you out there!

Pre-registration ends in about 5 minutes - I think we have a great field of riders! For those who haven't participated before hope you'll find the vibe of this event as cool as we do. If you didn't make it in to pre-register just head on out to Horn Creek on Saturday morning and sign up and race!

Have a coed 4 person team - weekend warrior but competitive spirit that is in need of one rider (have one male, two females). The team is pre-signed up so this would be at pre-registration event prices. Contact me with information if this sounds like a spot you want to fill! sorba.csra@gmail.com

Don't forget the ride out at Horn Creek tonight because although the trails will be too wet over at FATS, wheels on the well seasoned Horn Creek tonight should be perfect! 6pm trailhead parking lot! Check back here before you head out to ride tonight just in case we have more rain than expected today!
