Just a reminder that the August Explore the Trails ride will be this weekend at the Modoc trail starting at 9:30 An intermediate/advanced skills clinic will start earlier in the morning at 8am at Modoc. If you're coming to the skills clinic bring plenty of water and maybe some snacks, we may be out for a while. You can always head back early if you need to of course. Rode the trail on Saturday and it's in great shape. No overgrowth, plenty logs to hop of varying sizes. Most of the creek/ditch crossings were dry, which takes some of the challenge out of them, for better and worse.

I got none here in north augusta. Ride is still on unless one of the officers posts otherwise. Modoc drains well, and as dry as it is a little water is a good thing. Maybe all the creeks won't be dry like last weekend!

Maybe all the creeks won't be dry like last weekend! One can hope We got enough rain to overflow our retention pond at work, but 30 minutes after the rain stopped, I walked the trail I built on our part of the power line and it was only damp where standing water was during the rain. Didn't realize how thirsty the ground was.....

Rain this time of year is very spotty - as dry and hot as it has been even heavy showers will not leave the ground damp for long as the ground and foliage absorb it very quickly.
Only thing to keep an eye on is the potential for rain in the morning.........looks like 30% until 1pm and then 50%.
