Now that the main SORBA/CSRA page has some extremely good and up-to-date info on it (via links), and we are ready to start taking reservations for the BD'08, I thought it would be a good idea to get it on the main SORBA.org page.
I put it under the Racing thread under forums. Feel free to hop on the thread and add anything that comes to mind. I didn't try to cover everything. In fact, I tried to keep it short and just let my enthusiasm for the change show a lee liitle bit!
I really believe we did the right thing by taking it to HKSP. Great trail, great amenities. Lots to offer everyone.
If you are into camping and live locally, you may want to drive around the campsite and get a feel for where you want to camp. The SO and I have site 13 locked up for the BD (Wed - Mon) and hope to see a lot of you out there. If you don't like camping, there are cabins available. Let's make this the best one yet.
Michael
BIG P.S. Barbara and I have camped at HKSP probably two dozen times in the past 18 months. If you have any questions about sites, call or email us.

Will riders lap times be timed and recorded, or just the number of laps counted?

I'll be there regardless, but for what its worth I'd love to see a 6hr option. Also, the move to HKSP rocks.

Didn't take long. First out-of-area four rider co-ed, paid and rec'd today. Woodstock. Some good friends of ours from a really good bike shop. Good peeps!
Of course, the one that broke the ice was Dustin at Tuesday's meeting. Four-rider also...Thanks Dustin.
Eight in the books, 167 to go!

What is the mileage difference between the old and new BD trail?

The BD lap at Horn Creek was 8 miles with the gravel road portion. The new route at HKSP should be a tad less than 7.5 miles. I have not ridden an actual measured lap yet, but a regular lap is a bit over 7 miles, and then add in the field...

I was/am hoping it was all tongue-in-cheek. Single Speed category should contain: a) Single Speed bikes and/or b) Two Speed bikes Hmmmmmm......

Would a 1-geared bike be allowed in the regular category? Not trying to bunch your panties, just simply wanted to know which to sign up for. It's kinda like this. Ned Overend is about 50 something. All thru his late 30's and 40's, he was eligible to race a category other than "Open Pro". He could have raced masters or seniors or some other name like that. He choose to race against Tomac et al in the open men category. The guys that were racing against Ned that were in their 20's could not sign up for the masters category. Yes, you can race the regular category with a one speed bike. No you can't race the one speed category with a bike with more than one gear.

How about a update on entrants to the BD? You want an update??? I've got your update! We've got twenty-one paid participants now. Seeing as how we hadn't even opened registration up at this time last year, I would say we are quite ahead of last year's registration activities.
