If you like riding at Dupont or haven't been but love flow trails like FATS (Dupont Forest about 3 hours north of us near Brevard, NC is a great place to escape the heat in the summer).......... there has been some work this year on the Ridgeline Trail and it is at least for now a smooth, flowy downhill over a mile long. Check out the log ride at about 4:54 minutes into the video! And yes most can probably scrub a minute or more off my slow downhill time This trail is also close to another great downhill that has been reworked in recent years - Jim Branch - also over a mile long of smooth, flowing fun. *If you like your riding a bit more on the gnarly side, the Pisgah trails are right there in the same vicinity!

Makes for a good kid's loop. Park at Lake Imaging, ride up Jim Branch and the fire road, fool around in the skills section at the top, then ride Ridgeline back down, have lunch, and do it again.

You are right! Although we never saw any kids over in that area - more kids sighted in the Corn Shoals parking lot. Although if anyone from here in Augusta takes their kids up there probably need to make sure they are aerobically up for say Big Rock Trail here before venturing up there. We found it to be a fun end of a day of riding excursion and not to be missed if your destination is Dupont.
