Good pics! I'll add one more and then a short video (both of these are from the start of the Men u23 (cat 1 - 2) 60K Criterium. and they're off! Was great fun, I had my cowbells in the car from the weekly SORBA-CSRA time trails so could really cheer them on, saw lots of cycling friends down there too! I knew about the event for quite a while but around work on Friday I was encouraging people to come to it (and many did) but they said they really hadn't heard it was even in town. Several cycling friends said the same thing. So important to support these events and seems hard to get the word out. Maybe need one of those rectangular signs that would sit along Washington Road for a couple of weeks before the event. I think I remember seeing one up on BelAir for a few weeks before some big bass tournament up at the lake.

I was so tempted to grab a table outside of Nacho Ma Ma's and call in for the rest of the day. Believe it would of been packed if it was held on a Saturday. Heard the time trail up at the Lake was very good.

Most of us didn't get out there until early evening and we got a table outside Nacho Mamas - so we alternated between the cheering section at the rail and enjoying some snacks. Unfortunately the weather came up fast during the woman's elite (the race that started at 8pm) it felt great since the wind was blowing and it had cooled off but the dark clouds were coming and there was a thunderstorm on it's way. They gave the gals a 5 lap warning so they could position themselves for the finish (probably did about half the scheduled laps). Actually came though pretty fast and then nice for the rest of the evening.

REALLY wish this had been today (Saturday) instead of Friday. If they want people to come watch......
We were going to head downtown after dinner, but saw those huge dark thunder storm clouds rolling in, decided to just stay home.

There was another event being held downtown today and the USA Cycling Championships had events schedule for today and Sunday also! The women came across the finish line and then we ducked into Nacho Mamas for some food and drinks and by the time we came back out the rain was already gone. Couple of good bands playing at Stillwater and The Playhouse rounded out the evening. I was a fun crowd in for this event - met people from all over the country plus a lot of our cycling friends had made it downtown to cheer them on. Glad to have so many sporting events coming here!

I knew about the Saturday and Sunday events out at the fort along with the time trials at the dam, but was unable to make any of them. Wish this event would have been better advertised, looks like it would have been fun to watch.
