Switchback on Great Wall going ccw?

I could be wrong but it looks like the switchback on the top of the skinny just past the road crossing and just before the turn off for Great Wall and Lower Skinny - if so the "skull" knob is on the left and straight ahead is the log that is still smoldering 3+ weeks after the burn!

Switch back on GW (or Skull corner)

My bad, I always (and Daniel says erroneously) call the entire top trail leading from the parking lot the Skinny but this is that spot correct? and from this direction the rider would be going clockwise on Great Wall just before the cutoff?

yes spot on. GW just before Skinny. Most people look at this as part of the connector not the top of Great Wall. I and others refer to it as "Skull corner" even though the number of skulls, and other objects, have slowly gone down in the past years.

This is probably way too easy but all I had on hand right now!

There are about a dozen people I would have expected to jump on the photo above and identify but since no one is biting............here is a photo hint that might help!

I'll bite. Your first pic is looking up the trail that runs parallel to the stairs at the canal. The 2nd is looking down the stairs.

Dustin the location you have identified for both pictures is correct but strangely enough (and I agree it looks a bit deceiving) both of these pics were taken at the top looking downhill!

The Canal where the long boardwalk is now, before the boardwalk was put in.

Is it the section of the Lake Springs section of the Bartram Trail down on the section where they were backflushing the water system (that caused the recent reroute)? Was on it at night so didn't see it clearly but that sure is what it felt like!

The Canal where the long boardwalk is now, before the boardwalk was put in. Ding ding ding! We have a winner! That was the 'before', here's the 'after': That pic was taken Jan 2010, the boardwalk was put in spring/summer 2010, and the canal was great all this last winter. That was a great project. You're up seenvic.

The bricks in the Canal pic.....I helped put those there. Haven't done much riding or work there, but I did recognize that. Here are two pics that are the same location, a year or so apart.

I'm thinking Big Rock.

Not Big Rock. Just name the loop and you'll be the winner.
Or should I post another picture?

Just a guess here, but could it be HKSP Lake Loop?

Lake Loop was handbuilt. It was never as wide as the first pic.
I don't think Barbara lived here yet when we did HKSP, not sure.
