I'd like to hear about your ride at Fort Yargo...I plan on riding there or Chicopee Woods on Wednesday afternoon. Ft. Yargo is an absolute blast. Extremely well maintained loop that offers plenty of rolling singletrack, some good climbing, and some good descents. There have been several reroutes over the past years, and they are all for the better. Well worth the drive to ride it. Chicopee Woods is also fun. Haven't ridden that one in probably three or four years though. MD

Ft. Yargo is an absolute blast. Chicopee Woods is also fun. Well...the Fort Yargo bike trail was closed on Wednesday so I rode Chicopee Woods and, you're right, it was FUN. ;D Lots of bridges, hills, bermed turns, an easy creek crossing, and a scary technical creek crossing. I think I will have to make this a regular stop when traveling to visit family.

No, I think a line of rain showers moved through the area the day before. It may have been heavy locally because Chicopee Woods (~20 minutes away) was in great shape with only two small wet spots.
While I was riding at Chicopee, one local guy mentioned that the ranger(s) at Yargo are particularly conservative about closing the trails after rain. I had even called the rangers that morning to confirm that the trails were closed and they suggested I check again later in the afternoon. By then, I was almost in Gainesville.
It's all good. Either way, I would have ridden new (to me) trails. Can't complain about that ;D
