Anyone ride with a wool jersey? After getting very cold Saturday morning riding Bartram (cold hard wind off the Lake) I started thinking of alternative clothing for biking. Most of the time I use synthetic clothing for riding without a problem. I tend not to get cold but this past weekend I managed to build up a little sweat than got cold.
I know from experience that wool is breathable, has a very large comfort range and will keep you warm (even better than fleece) when wet.
on a side note, my wife knits so we just need to buy the yarn. She just found a pattern for a jersy and ear warmers that attach to your helemet straps.

I've got several pair of REI's Merino wool socks, love 'em. It's all I wear in the winter months. I have a long sleeve merino wool jersey, but haven't worn it yet. Was going to Sunday...but I left my helmet at home. So I didn't ride.

Why not go the extra mile and do these with SORBA-CSRA on them? Count me in for sure!

I have a wool jersey (Swobo), but I usually use a wool baselayer instead (Ibex or Smartwool) under a standard jersey. My issue with the Swobo is when it gets wet. Yes, it retains your body heat better, but it also stretches and sags. I carry a bunch of stuff in my pockets, so this is a problem.
The comfort range of wool is a huge plus down here where temps can be chilly in the AM and warm right up in an hour or two.

My wife knit me a pair of wool riding socks and a skull cap last year. Love them (and her) I used to hike/ski/snowshoe in New Hampshire with a wool sweater, never got cold wearing them and was just thinking a wool jersey would do the trick. Plus she wants to knit something that i would wear for Christmas.

I'd be up for one of those woolly jerseys. Bonus if it could be a custom CSRA jersey.

Why not go the extra mile and do these with SORBA-CSRA on them? Count me in for sure! I thought about that for about 30 seconds, and started to post the same thing. Then I remembered that I use wool stuff under my outermost layers, and it would all be covered, so I just didn't say anything else. Others do wear wool jerseys as outermost garments, soooo YMMV. MD

If you just want to try one on the cheap, head to Goodwill and find a merino wool sweater there. They can usually be found for less than $10. You may even find an argyle one to earn style points. FWIW i wear a good light wicking defeet un-d-shirt under mine.

Why not go the extra mile and do these with SORBA-CSRA on them? Count me in for sure! I was thinking the same thing. But I am a follower in this. If someone wants to get it going, I'll order at least one. Pretty sure the deal is this. We can get SORBA CSRA on it, and there is a charge to do that. It is not that much. If you don't want SORBA CSRA on it, you can order a plain jersey with no logo. But we only get one logo per wholesale order. The folks who have the logo on the jersey will split the logo set up fee and embroidery fees. Those with no logo just pay for the jersey. We all share in the shipping. Edit to add: there may not be a "set up fee" if all we do is SORBA CSRA. I think if we some custom artwork or something, there is a set up fee. I am not sure. Can get any color you want. Long or short sleeve. But only one logo. Also, I have two of these already and like them. I got a plain one and took it to Aiken and had Long Cane Trails embroidered on it for $8, IIRC. So, if you want a logo other than SORBA CSRA, order a plain one at wholesale and do the embroidery yourself or take it to a local shop and have it done. Anyone want to drive this?
