COE is sponsoring a work party on Trail Appreciation Day which is Sep 25. Unfortunately that conflicts with SMC. COE, with volunteer help, plans to clear 2 approach trails to the old Tram line below the Dam. If you aren't participating in SMC, you can contact Dave Quebedeaux at 800-533-3478. What this means is that you will be able to extend Bartram going east from West Dam, cross the dam, turn right to below the dam, access one these new trails (combined they will make a short loop) and get on the tram line (elevated rail bed used in construction of the dam in late 40's/early 50/s, turn left onto Lukes Ferry Rd, then right onto Rt 28, left into "Lost Wilderness", left onto Woodlawn and then right onto Phillpots and onto Big Rock trail to Deep Step, etc. So you can go one way from the northern tip of Mistletoe S.P to FATS parking lot. So who's ready to man-up for this?
COE has, they think, fixed the problem that had been inundating Lake Springs trail. Seems like the county had routed a small pipe from the new county water line to where it affected LS Trail. The flow should now go into the ravine that the bridge near fishing pier crosses.

This is a very exciting post. Thanks for the info. I've been looking at Google Earth trying to imagine where this will run exactly. Your point at which one turns right onto HWY28, then left into Lost Wilderness, then left onto Woodlawn is a bit confusing. There's a lot of real estate between Lost Wilderness and Woodlawn.

Todd - wasn't intending on step by step directions - just a general idea - but I do have the details with mileages. will post later - wrist hurts too much to type right now.

This is too good to be true.We can not miss this one.How could volunteering for this be worked into being apart of the SMC.I would not miss this work party but we will have or be having a baby.
