Any suggestions on how to stop would be appreciated.
My wife's bike is still running V-brakes and the front brakes are so loud they could wake the dead. I'm talking about dry conditions with the slightest pressure and it's screeeeeech.
I have tried: 1. cleaning pads & rims with alcohol. 2. replacing pads with new ones. 3. lightly sanding rim with 400 grit sandpaper & re-cleaning.
the rear brakes make zero noise.
Thanks, Matt

Thanks for the link MD.
I didn't know that the pads were supposed to be toed in. I tried to adjust it last night and it improved some, but still not fixed.
I think I'll move on to plan B and take it to the LBS.
