Ladies and Gentlemen, it has come to my attention after a quick lap on bartram tonight, that every other tree in the woods has fallen over on the yellow trail.
No worries, i have dispatched a team of ninjas armed with chainsaws and throwing stars to handle the fallen trees.
Do not attempt to speak to any of the ninjas if you see them, they are crazy. You may also see them accompanied by a one eyed pirate cyborg monkey who only speaks german and is planting C4 around some of the larger trees. Do not look him in the eye -
That is all, carry on

I drove to work this morning wondering why I read this forum before work, after I read this post. A serious WTH from MD. I figured I was seriously out of the loop... If this needs to be modded, then OK. But seriously, WTH? MD

If this needs to be modded, then OK. But seriously, WTH? MD i think he is just having fun with whats going down on the trail. 'Ninjas with chainsaws' must mean his buddies with chainsaws clearing the trail and the rest is just a joke about dont speak to them.

wow - this is a tough crowd here. I was just having a joke on your guys. There arent actually any ninjas and cyborg monkeys in the woods.
(but, if you DO see one, i wouldnt advise trying to talk to them)

I hate to tell ya MD, but there's also a Dark Gnome that roams around FATS. I think he may be related to the troll that used to live under the 13th street bridge when it was only 2 lanes. Now you can ask WTH or rather WTF.

rode Petersburg to West Dam plus Lake Springs Loop. Five trees down, one between the pond and site #1, two/three trees down withing 300 feet of passing the airstrip , fourth tree down just before the dirt road leading to the sailing club and the fifth tree is about halfway between the sail club road and West Dam.
Great day on the trail, saw 22 riders, 1 trail runner and a hiker. 14 cars in the Petersburg lot, one at lake Springs and 2 at West Dam. Only time I have seen this many folks on Bartram is bikefest.
Also on Lake Springs near the bridge that goes to the park there are a few areas holding water and the trail (up hill ccw has water) I feel this is not from rain since the rest of the trail was bone dry. Possible from the work they are doing up on the road.

I was hoping that someone was volunteering to take care of the trees and not wait for the ninjas (MD or DP) to do it.............. I'm still working on my TMNT certificate.

Rode the new section from Petersburg to Wildwood and back this morning. It's in great shape. Thanks money and ehscott for clearing the webs. There was one rider and one non-rider down. Those Ninjas are amazing !!

Possible from the work they are doing up on the road. Brian, we were riding Bartram back on May 22nd and they were blowing out a fire hydrant along the road. We were JRA the loops right by the turnoff for the Lake Springs boat ramp and then all of a sudden we were axle deep in water! The water was flowing hard. We went back on June 20th and again the water was flowing. MD

I rode old bartram twice this weekend. My son and I tried to clear as much as we could but there is still 5 good size trees down. 2 @ mile 1, 2 @ mile 3.5 and one @ mile 5.5. If someone is planning on cutting these I can lend a hand.

MD, I noticed yesterday (6/05) when i went to Lake Springs with the family where it appeared that a hydrant was flushed. It must of caught yeti and you off guard when riding. When I saw the wet area it just didn't make sense with the rest of the trail dry.

jimf- I forgot to ask last night if the mile markers you list are the official trail mile marks (starting at West Dam) or the miles from the Petersburg parking lot going towards West Dam?

The GF and i rode through here last week and man it was flooded, in some spots your wheel would sink down almost to the axle. Is it just a natural flood area or runoff, or did a pipeline bust or something?

There has been water pipe/new hydrant work on the road going out to Lake Springs. I am pretty sure it has to do with this work.
