Well, if you can't ride the trails, what can you do? WORK ON THEM!! I went this morning for about 2 1/2 hours and got a great deal of work done on the canal trail before thunder, lightening, rain and exhaustion made me quit.. Got ALOT of stuff cut back, should make the trail much more enjoyable to ride.. Wish I could've gotten a few more areas done, but I think it looks pretty good..
Beside, John and his better half did all that work, one can't let that hard effort go to waste now can we???

I got the perfect too. Battery operated hedge clipper.. I can get around about 80% of the trial.. If I had a back up battery, I could easily do the whole trail and do a better job, although it's pretty sweet right now..

Kim and I went out to the trail for a couple hours yesterday. Removed the rest of the down tree. Wasn't too hard to cut as it was rotting out. Kim went up the trail to do some trimming and narrowly avoided a Fox attack...Literally. As in, I heard her screaming and when I came running up the trail with the brush cutter at full throttle it wasn't backing down. Thing was hissing, growling, and it's tail was all bristled up following us back down the trail. Full defense mode. Must have had some babies somewhere on the trail. Once I started cutting some stuff on the trail it slowly cruised into the woods in no real hurry. Wild. Don't forget the first Time Trial is this Thursday night!andyjordans.com/articles/the-canal-crown-pg257.htm

Drew, I would be very suspect of an aggressive fox. They are one of the most common carriers of rabies; them and raccoons, and one of the most common to attack humans. I will pack the next time I ride down there.

I was thinking the same thing. Fox are really elusive, they don't like being seen. Very strange for one to be aggressive like that.

Something is wrong with that fox. Distemper, rabbies....who knows. But that is unusual unless it has one of these or something else.
Should the city animal control be alerted? It would be awful for someone to get rabbies fro it.

Animal control sez it is the DNR's bailiwick because it is a wild animal. DNR sez they aren't concerned unless someone actually gets bitten. So there ya go. Keep your eyes open and pedal like hell if he comes at you.
