Where's the NMBP Store?
As you may have noticed, things are starting to look a little different, both on our online store and in this e-mail. IMBA has switched over to a new system, so NMBP gear will now be included along with the rest of the items on the IMBA store. Simply scroll down and click on the NMBP jersey to shop patrol gear. The new store can tell, based on your account, if you are a current NMBP member and will authorize your access to gear accordingly.
Upcoming Instructor Certification Session
After another successful training session in mid-January, we now have 20 new NMBP instructors! Demand continues to be high for more training sessions, so our next instructor training webinar is scheduled for March 16. The training is open to all current NMBP patroller members. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon. So far, we have certified instructors in 19 states and two Canadian provinces!
Patrollers Wanted at IMBA World Summit
Are you an NMBP Patroller planning to attend the 2010 IMBA World Summit held May 5-8, in Augusta, Georgia? Have you heard of the famous IMBA Epic trail system known as FATS and always wanted to ride it? Well here's you chance! The SORBA-CSRA Bike Patrol Group is seeking volunteer Bike Patrollers to join us in providing the best support we can for the World Summit. So bring your jersey and your patrol gear and ride with one of our certified Bike Patrollers who know their way around FATS and the rest of the great trails we have in our area. If interested or if you have any questions, please contact John Liebe.
Red Cross to Introduce Wilderness Training
The American Red Cross is introducing a new 16-hour Wilderness and Remote First Aid course that teaches the skills needed to respond to an emergency when help may be delayed. Course participants must be at least 14 years of age and possess current certification in adult CPR/AED. The new national Wilderness and Remote First Aid program will release on Feb. 25. Contact your local Red Cross chapter or instructor, to inquire about implementing this training for your patrol group. Additionally, you can fill out a short online form in order to receive information on training options for both current and new instructors.
Be Safe!
