Meet on the towpath, just before the Riverwatch overpass, at 1PM. The plan is to get the trail in a little better shape prior to the Thursday night TT next week. We'll need a couple people to walk the trail with loppers, there's one tree we'll have to cut, and we're going to make an effort at draining the 2 "ponds". If you've got tools of your own please bring them (loppers, shovel, pick axe, etc.) If anything changes we'll update it here. Thanks!

I'll be able to meet you guys tomorrow and help out at the canal. I may be a few minutes late, but I'll catch up. I can also bring a chainsaw if needed.

Thanks to John Pilcher, Dale Parrot, Philip Roberson, Bob "I don't even own a mountain bike" Deevey, Matt Cawthon, Michael Dunn, and Kim Jordan for all your hard work. We cleared a few trees, got a lot of eye gougers lopped, got one of the two serious drainage issues totally resolved, and devised a great plan for the other. We're going to need the help of someone with a pontoon boat so stay tuned as more details become available.

The "plan" is a boardwalk about 90 feet long. Timber sleepers will be placed every 10 feet directly on the ground - maybe with brick support. Planning on a 3 foot width - I like 4 foot but want to economize on materials and the whole shebang will be only about 5-6 inches off the ground. Two foot would work but we need to recognize that many/most of the riders are "casual". Drew is going to do some checking with the Canal authority and Sports Council for concept and funding. I'm working up a rough materials estimate.
