Dustin, Jimmy and I did Keg tonight and got that Jabberwocky dirty. Had a blast but Keg is really tough to track at night. Missed the turns and trail about a dozen times. It really kept us on our frozen wet toes.
We cleared the limbs off the downed double tree at the 3 mile mark so you can climb over now without having to detour so far around.
Totally different trail at night. Give it a try but make sure you're with someone who has done the trail a few times or you may get lost.

That is my last winter ride without booties. My toes were totally numb...like, I was a little worried about it. When they started thawing out they hurt, and swelled. Not cool.
On the plus side, the Jabberwocky is fun. Climbs amazingly well due to the lack of weight, and the lack of suspension isn't bad. Unless you hit a root you didn't see...then it's a bit jaring. Can't wait to ride it in the daylight.
And the CaffeLatex officially gets two thumbs down...it just takes too long to seal. I just don't trust it. I'll be switching to Stans soon.

When you say booties are you talking about the blue waterproof shoe covers you see medical people wear. Where do you get those booties. I don't have clip-in shoes, I wear tennis shoes when riding.

60 bucks for shoe covers? You're livin' like a single man still Dustin! Nah! If you marry a woman that loves mountain biking as much as you do, then the sky's the limit! You don't skimp on frames/forks/handlebars/etc. Trust me. RVs, vacations, Christmases revolving around mtb'ing, etc. It's not whether she wants diamonds, it's whether she wants XTR or XT... MD

I eneded up getting a pair of Specialized shoe covers. AJBW had them in stock, and I need something for the Snake next weekend. I'll let you know how they work, may use them Sunday, depending on the temperature.

Great theory MD, but since my wife sees mountain biking as a serious injury waiting to happen, I think I will try Brianw's solution!
