Probably need to induce a little trail creep to offset the erosion. Rode that about 3 weeks ago and it seemed ok - just need to stay away from the edge. Or you can ride the roots and see the dropoff under your tires!

Cut out the big tree today at the sandy creek crossing.

Rode Keg this evening about 5 pm. Trail is still very wet in spots and there were several non-riders down, but lots of fun riders spread throughout the trail. Some of the greenery on the forest floor is starting to pop and and makes for a very pretty ride.

As of today, there are 21 non-riders down, over half are bunched near Boulder Creek on the North side. Otherwise trail is in good shape - a few wet spots, though. Oddly, last year there was about a 100' stretch just before getting to the service road crossing of Dickey Branch (going CW) that was real slop. This year is has been dry and a couple of other always dry places are wet - go figure.

Hit keg this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find a lot of the trail had been recently weed wacked. The spiders have been hard at work out there too, wow. Big thank you to the person(s) responsible for doing the trail work.

more lopping was done today plus 2 chest high trees were removed. Keg is in primo shape and exceptionally low water levels make easier creek crossings for those that may be normally intimated.

Don't know if anyone noticed during the Christmas party ride yesterday but there has been a 4 wheeler on Keg Creek. Looks like it may have started from the back door (Keg Pointe subdivision), rode ccw, up and down boulder creek, across the flat rock stream crossing, up the next hill, and ended (turned around?) at the creek with the big drop-in.
Some portions of the trail are less damaged and others parts are more damaged, particularly the down-slope side of the tread.

Since the problems with 4 wheelers seems to come quickly and disappear just as quickly and it seems to be more in late summer and early fall - is it possible there are hunters looking for the prime spot since hunting season is upon us?

Two down cw, first near the field and the second about 50' before the "19 mile marker". There is another tree across the trail near the sandy creek crossing close to the main (or north) lot. It is only 2-3" in diameter. Two weeks ago I could ride under it, not now. Forgot my hand saw.
Removed a lot of limbs/debris from the trail, took an extra hour to do the loop. With the rain the new rock bridge is even better. Trail needs wheels.

Charlie Mock and I were out there today - what a super day to be on Keg - just beautiful. Got the small one on North side plus a bigger pine near North Trailhead. The two on the south side are evidently gone but did have to chainsaw a hardwood out between the service road shortcut (near One Mile Tree) and The Jungle plus some minor work with hand saw.

one non-rider between keg proper and the bike tree. would be a rider if it was not 6-12" off the ground. Easy to step across. Removed one large tree near the road section and a bunch of limbs. Trail is in great shape. A few damp spots, no mud, just needs wheels. oh, and there is water in the creeks.

Snipped out one downed tree near the north trailhead. Trail is in excellent condtion according to JT. In fact, we won't have to blow off the pine straw this year - yea!
