Syncros Discounts for NMBP Members
Syncros Applied Technologies is generously providing IMBA members and volunteers discount coupons for Syncros products, as reward for their support of mountain biking communities and infrastructure. Syncros will provide a 25-percent discount on their products’ MSRP for IMBA members, as well as a 40-percent discount for IMBA trailbuilders and NMBP members. The single-use coupon code can be redeemed on the Syncros webstore. Please contact Spencer Powlison if you'd like to take advantage of this great benefit.
New Instructor Certification Program
IMBA’s National Mountain Bike Patrol (NMBP) is pleased to announce a new system to certify and recertify instructors. With increased demand from land managers and volunteers for greater standardization and consistency, the NMBP has decided to employ a webinar system to certify instructors and revitalize our network of volunteer leaders. To learn more about the new program, please refer to our online info page. Registration is now open for our first webinar, scheduled for Oct. 21, 2009. Space is limited!
Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day
IMBA will celebrate its sixth annual International Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on Saturday, Oct. 3. This is a great opportunity to pass your passion for pedaling on to kids! We're sure this year's event will be bigger and better than ever before. Patrols across the country have organized kids events to outreach to the community, get more volunteers involved and have fun! Register your event by Sept. 15 to receive a Event-in-a-Box package, which will include snacks, official race plates and special kids stickers to give away as prizes. Your group will also be eligible for any raffled prizes.
Radio Call Sign Has Changed
If your patrol is using 2-way radios on the NMBP's frequency, please note that our call sign has changed to: WQIU529, effective immediately. Our licensed frequency of 151.625 remains the same. For more information on our radio license specifications, please refer to the FCC page for the International Mountain Bicycling Association's license.
NMBP Featured in Dirt Rag
As you may know, the NMBP celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and to recognize the occasion, Dirt Rag Magazine has published a special retrospective article about the patrol. Don't forget, Dirt Rag is also an IMBA and NMBP corporate partner providing complimentary trial subscriptions to all new and renewing members. Thanks, Dirt Rag!
Be safe!
