Rode Canel trail today and there is a tree down thats blocking the trail. Going CCW its about 200 feet from the fork of the trail that you ride both ways. The tree is not large but, looks like you would need a chain saw. Also going CCW there is some low laying tree branches near the finsh thats is eye level, you may not be able to see them if its getting late on the trail. Sorry that I can not help remove them, I'm going to the beach.

I'll get 'em tomorrow.

Tree must have fell during yesterday storm. The wind got up petty good in South Augusta. There is also a large dead tree limb hanging straight down over the trail that looks like a torpedo, it could fall anytime. Its near the lower end on the river side. Sorry I can not give a better description to where its at, when I saw it I got the "hell out of dodge". Its really high up over the trail, 16-20 feet. This may be a limb that falls on its own.

I got the low hanging vines cleared. The downed tree was too big for my handsaw, but I did clean it up a bit, so it's easy to dismount and jump over it. One larger (18") tree fell on top of two smaller trees (8" and 2") - I got the smaller ones out.
Not sure if I'll be able to get out there any this week or not. I'll let you know.
EDIT: Yeah...I'm gonna be busy this week. I can't even make the Weds. night ride. I'll be there Thurs night. I'll come by Weds to pick up the race-tape. I've got an idea on how to carry it.

Just to cheer everyone up, there is a tree down just before the trail comes together even days. It is dead and was a bit off the ground before it collapsed while I was climbing over it. I am pretty sure that it could be moved be 2-3 riders.

You couldn't get on your hands and knees and push it out of the way? Come one man, you gotta put some mojo into it!
Has anyone ever been hit by a falling tree? It's a miracle..

The dead tree is up near the RR tracks going CCW. The Wednesday evening AJBW ride group may be able to clear it. I'm up for giving it a try.
