I recently heard back from the folks at the Corps of Engineers Visitor Center. They said we can use the conference room for the whole day of July 11. This is great news for us!
We now have the opportunity to provide CPR/First Aid & Bike Patrol training all in one day. However, Charlie Mock is only available for the first half of the day since that day is his child's birthday and he'll have to be home for the afternoon birthday party.
So if you need CPR/First Aid certification training, plan to be at the Visitor Center by 8:30 AM Saturday, July 11. We'll have donuts & coffee. This training will last approximately 4 hours.
Lunch will be provided FREE to those attending CPR/First Aid training and staying for Bike Patrol training.
If you do not require CPR/First Aid certification training or you do not wish to take it at this time, plan to be at the Visitor Center by 1:00 PM for the start of Bike Patrol training which will last approximately 3 hours.
There is a small nominal $20 fee for CPR/First Aid training to cover the use of the equipment. This will provide you with your certification card (needed to become a Patroller) that is good for 2 years. Bike Patrol training is FREE.
Even if you don't want to become a Bike Patroller but want to take the CPR/First Aid certification training, please plan to do so. It's in everyone's best interest to have CPR/First Aid training in case you ever need to use it.
I do need a head count so we'll know how much CPR equipment, training material, and food to bring. Please send me an email at j.liebe3@comcast.net if you are planning to attend that day and which classes you would like to take. In order to properly prepare, I'll need to know by July 8.
I am very happy to report that I have 11 students signed up for Bike Patrol training so far. We have room for twice that many and more so if you're interested in joining our patrol group, please let me know.
Let's take full advantage of this opportunity while we have it!
Be safe!
